#2 - Renee Good was not technically "blocking traffic! The above video clearly show that traffic was able and did pass both in front of her and behind her!
Claim: Good "violently, willfully and viciously ran over the ICE Officer" or aimed her car at him. This was the administration's primary justification for self-defense.
• Fact: Video analyses by The New York Times, The Washington Post, and eyewitness accounts indicate that Good was turning her car away from the officer and attempting to leave the scene at a slow speed when she was shot. The officer had an opportunity to move out of the way and did so; shots were fired from the side of her car as it moved past him.
#3 - She was not threatening any of the officers verbally. Below is Renee Gold smiling and telling Jonathan Ross that she is not mad.
#4 - Renee Good did not have a criminal history!
Claim: Good had a significant criminal history, including an arrest record or lost custody of her children.
• Fact: Public records searches by news outlets found no evidence of any criminal charges, arrests, or custody cases for Renee Good (also known as Renee Macklin). The only potential legal matter was a possible civil motor vehicle registration requirement, as she had recently moved from Missouri to Minnesota. The "rap sheets" circulating online used an incorrect birth date and are confirmed to be fabricated or edited documents belonging to someone else.
#5 - Jonathan Ross does NOT have “absolute immunity”.
Claim: The ICE agent is protected by "absolute immunity".
• Fact: Legal analysts have stated that the claim of absolute immunity is false. The agent has immunity, but it is not absolute and depends on whether his actions were "objectively, reasonably" performed in the scope of his federal duties. See SCOTUS Barnes v Felix, May 15, 2025.
#6 - Jonathan Ross was injured and went to the hospital.
The officer who killed Good was not in the pathway of her car when he began firing, analysis of the video shows. Two other officers were beside the car, and no members of the public were seen to be in harm’s way. There is no evidence that any ICE officer was injured.
